Week 49 / Day 340

Week 49 / Day 340

This week has been rather weird, educational and surprising week for me.

The week started well. I went for my routine walks, sometimes did my step ups routine and began mixing in some strength exercise daily challenges of planking, push ups and abs workouts. This involves doing a low set on day one and then slowly increasing the limit per day.

This was all on track, and was feeling great about it until Friday afternoon. To track back a few days, I had been feeling rather lathargic and tired. And I thought this was because I had a busy week end, and the constant tiredness was due to exercise, and therefore I would continue to build up more energy.

But on Friday afternoon, I told a colleague of mine I was not feeling well, and within moments of telling her this, I began to feel faint. My eye sight went fuzzy, as well as my hearing. I quickly sat down before I fainted and was given water. I had my blood pressure checked and that was perfect apart from having a very high heart rate. I was told by the nurse in charge that I was taking on too much at work and to reduce stress and relax more. I did not want to believe this (and still don't feel fully committed to believing it still). But I went home and went to sleep at around 2:30pm and properly woke up at 10:30am the next day, with the exemption of waking up to have a bit of food, going to the toilet or being sick. In all, I was in bed for 15 hours, I had never done that before.

While resting and relaxing, I had time to thing of what was stressing me and all the projects and things I had on my 'to do' list, and there was a fair bit of it. I may have been ignoring the pressure and pushing through it all, having the frame of mind 'I CAN GET THROUGH THIS.'

The moral of this blog is, rest is so damn important to your mind and body. If you ignore it your body will beat you down, pin you to the floor, 'wet willy' you and throw you into bed and keep you there until it is happy enough for you to get up and do the basic minimum again. Don't ever let this happen to you, it is the most frustrating and boring time you can go through if you are a productive and energetic person like I am.

Anyway, my results for this week are:
